Lace Closure vs Frontal vs 360 Frontal: Which One Should You Choose?
Lace closures, frontals and 360 frontals all help you get a natural-looking hairline, but they cover different areas and suit different styles. This guide explains the difference so you can pick the right one.
Lace Closure
A closure is a small piece of lace with hair knotted onto it. It covers one section of the head, usually the top or the parting area, and finishes off a sew-in or a wig.
- Sizes: 2x6, 4x4, 4x5, 5x5 and 6x6.
- Best for: a neat, natural parting in one place (middle, side or free part, depending on the closure).
- Good to know: it is smaller and lighter than a frontal, and is usually the easiest option for beginners.
Lace Frontal
A frontal is a wider lace piece that runs from ear to ear across the front hairline. It gives you a full, natural hairline and more freedom in how you style the front.
- Sizes: 13x4, 13x5, 13x6 and 13x7. The first number is the width, the second is how far back the lace goes.
- Best for: side parts, middle parts, and swept-back or pulled-back looks.
- Good to know: a deeper frontal (13x6 or 13x7) gives you more parting space.
360 Frontal
A 360 frontal has lace all the way around the head, so the whole hairline is covered, including the nape and the sides.
- Best for: high ponytails, buns and updos.
- Good to know: it covers the most area, so it takes a little more care to fit and install.
HD Lace or standard lace?
We offer both HD Swiss lace and HD lace. HD lace is very thin and blends into the skin, which makes the hairline look almost invisible. It is a good choice if you want the most natural finish. HD lace is delicate, so handle it gently while installing and removing.
Which one should you choose?
- I want a simple, quick install: go for a closure.
- I want to part my hair in different places: choose a 13x4, 13x5 or 13x6 frontal.
- I want to tie my hair up fully: a 360 frontal is made for that.
- I want the most natural hairline: choose HD lace in your size.
Tips for a better fit
- Choose a hair colour and texture that match your own hair, or go with a natural black or brown.
- Measure your head and hairline before ordering so the lace size suits you.
